The Food and Drink Summit is the first food and drink industry cutting edge conference event, brought to you by Edge Street Events, the team behind the succesful and well-regarded Manchester Food and Drink Festival.
We hope you ‘ll join us for what promises to be a rewarding day.
The aim of the event is to open some much needed channels of communication within the food and drink sector, hear about issues from a variety of perspectives from some of the most inspiring people in the industry, allow delegates to question and be questioned, bring a credible industry event to the north and to share insight and knowledge that will have a lasting impact for participants.
The food and drink industries are going through massive changes worldwide. Here in the UK the issues are never far from our minds. The high street of an average town see more and more pubs boarded up whilst takeaways grow at an alarming rate. Quality restaurants often struggle to survive, as the chains become more aggressive. Smaller retailers toil against the might of the supermarket and local producers are forced to sell at unsustainable prices. As the pound in peoples pockets becomes more precious, we ask, how do we survive in the often crazy, largely unregulated worlds of our industries?
There are equally endless lists of positives. Interest in and access to food and drink has never been higher. The undeniable improvements in quality make life so much better. Great taste is what people want; whether it is delicious locally grown asparagus, a perfect crumbly cheese, a glorious pint of micro brewed beer or a glass of fine wine, we all love to feel our taste buds explode.
We know there is an increasing desire for seeking out and discovering fine food and drink, but can it be sustained? We hope The Summit will begin to answer these questions and hopefully give some pointers as to the way forward.
We hope this Summit will become at least annual and hope to see you there!
